Lowick

Lance Corporal George Proudlock

Lance Corporal George Proudlock, 98th Field Coy., Royal Engineers. He was killed in action in France on 28th May 1918, aged 31. He was the son of Lewis and Jane Proudlock of Bowsden, Berwick-Upon-Tweed and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, Aisne, France. He was the brother of Isaac Proudlock.

Driver D. Fairbairn

Driver D. Fairbairn, No. 3 Depot Coy.( Bradford ) Army Service Corps. He died at Home on 7th February 1917, aged 20. He was the son of David and Catherine Fairbairn of The Old Schoolhouse, Main Street, Lowick and is buried in Lowick ( St. John The Baptist ) Churchyard, Lowick.  

Rifleman Eric Brown

Rifleman Eric Brown, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles ). He died on 25th April 1945 whilst a Prisoner of War in Germany, aged 28. He was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Adaline Mary Brown of Lowick and is buried in the Berlin War 1939-1945 Cemetery.

Private J. Piercy

Private J. Piercy, 13th ( Service ) Battalion, Yorks and Lancs Regiment. He was killed in action in France on 21st September 1918 during the “Advance to Victory” aged 21. He was the husband of Sarah Carr Piercy of Lowick, Berwick-Upon-Tweed and is buried in La Kreule Military Cemetery, Hazebrouk, France. His Headstone is inscibed …
