Sergeant G. Pringle

Sergeant G. Pringle, 8th Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry. He died of wounds on 3rd July 1916 received in action in France during the Battle of the Somme, aged 33. He was the son of Ralph and Jessie Pringle of Lowick and the husband of Janet and is buried in Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. The photograph shows a recently captured trench on the Somme with the chalk soil of the Region very evident.
