Erected by ELIZABETH SCOTT in loving memory of ADAM SCOTT her husband who died at Mindrum 8th August 1903 aged 60 years

Also the above ELIZABETH SCOTT who died at Wark W. Common 28th August 1923 aged 81 years

Also JAMES PORTEOUS grandson of the above who fell in action in Belgium 27th March 1916 aged 20 years and ten months

Also CHRISTINA HOPE their daughter  who died at Wark March 9 1834 aged 18 years.  Also JEANIE  DIPPlE  his wife who died at Wark Sept.? aged 74 years

In loving memory of MARGARET CLOW who died at East Learmouth Nov 25 1902 aged 63 years. Also of MARGARET dearly beloved  wife of GEORGE LEE who died at East Moneylaws Dec 9th 1919 aged 66 years. Also of their youngest  daughter MARY JANE LEE beloved  wife of JOHN LOCKIE  who died April 7th 1919 aged 27 years interred  at Ancroft Churchyard.  Also the above GEORGE LEE who died at North Doddington 9 Sept 1924 aged 72 years

Also the above DAVID MELROSE who died 14th Nov 1907 aged 58 years. Also MARY ALLAN his wife who died 27th April 1936 aged 85 years. Also SARAH SHORT HARDIE his daughter who died 11th Decr 1966 aged 83 years.  Not lost but gone before.

Loved and esteemed in life and lamented in death. Also JOHN their eldest son who died at Wark 19th  March 1903 aged 36 years. Asleep in Jesus. Also the above JANE RUTHERFORD  who died at Wark 31st Augt.1920 aged 77 years . Also the above WILLIAM RUTHERFORD who died at Coldstream 25th June 1929 aged 88 years  :In loving memory of ISABELL SHIEL  who died 13th Decr 1904, aged 85 years.

On the rear of the stone: Erected by ISABEL SHEIL in memory of her mother JANE SHEIL widow of JOHN SHEIL who died at Wark 5th April 1875 aged 83 years, Also MARGARET LAIDLER wife of JAMES SHEIL who died at Middle Softla (sic) 10th Augt. 1886 aged 49 years Also WILLIAM SHEIL son of JAMES SHEIL who died at Castlelaw 5th  May 1876 aged  years. Also the above JAMES SHEIL who died at West Nisbit 15th June 1899 aged 65 years . Though after my  worms destroy this body  yet in my flesh shall see God

Yes, just as the sun gently sinks in the west, so she fell asleep on Immanual 's breast, and Fake in the regions of the day 

Also the above ANDREW NESBIT who died at Kirknewton on the 22nd September 1895 aged 81 years, Also JANE FOULTON his wife who died at Heaton 22nd March 1909 aged 75 years
