Also JAMES PORTEOUS grandson of the above who fell in action in Belgium 27th March 1916 aged 20 years and ten months

Private James Porteous, 7th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in Belgium on 27th March 1916, aged 20 and is buried in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Ypres, Belgium He was the son of Mr. J. Porteous of West Weetwood, Wooler, Northumberland. He was killed along with three of his comrades when a shell landed in their trench
