Erected by WILLIAM BRUCE father of JOHN BRUCE who died at Pertonian 29th March 1848 aged 76 years.

Also mother ELISABETH GRAY died at Swinton Mill 26th July 1857 aged 83 years.

Also wife AGNES THOMPSON who died 6th January 1869 aged 74 years.

Also WILLIAM BRUCE died at Swinton 21st April 1884 aged 84 years.

JANET DUNCAN HILL sister of ISABELLA DUNCAN died 6th July 1844 aged 74 years. ISABELLA JANET DUNCAN daughter of the above JAMES SOMERVAIL died 26th November 1872 aged 56 years. Also their eldest daughter WILLIAM farmer Little Swinton who died 3rd June 1875 aged 74 years. Also 2nd son ALEXANDER farmer Hawkslaw died 23rd November 1875 aged 73 years. Also his wife JANE SOMERVAIL RENTON who died 10th April 1877 aged 70 years.

Erected by JOHN and  MARGARET MARSHALL in memory of ISABELLA TURNBULL their only and beloved daughter who died 18th April 1879 aged 3 years.

Also the above JOHN MARSHALL who deid at Bonkl on 16th March 1899 aged 55 years.

Also MARGARET REID his wife who died at Duns law on 31st January 1916 aged 68 years.

JOHN died 1st March 1849 aged 22 years. EUPHEMIA died 24th May 1849 aged 15 years.

Wife ISABELLA McCALL died 22nd June 1860 aged 53 years.

Daughter ANN died 23rd March 1863 aged 32 years.

Also the above JAMES SIMPSON who died 16th March 1876 aged 72 years.

In memory of WILLIAM PURVES who died 7th December 1789 aged 43 years.

Also son WILLIAM who died 31st December 1793 aged 11 years. Son ROBERT died 2nd January 1794 aged 6 years. Son DAVID died August 1794 aged 8 years.

Also spouse ELISABETH KER who died 14th April 1802 aged 51 years.

In memory of GEORGE INGLES who died 7th April 1829 aged 39 years. Daughter ELIZABETH died 1st March 1836 aged 18 years. Son JAMES died 8th November 1848 aged 31 years. Wife JANE JOHNSTON died 4th November 1862 aged 66 years. Grandson JAMES INGLES died 20th November 1849 aged 6 weeks. Daughter AGNES died 5th August 1891 aged 66 years.

Erected in memory of MARGARET SMITH wife of LUKE WEATHERSTONE who died 13th February 1830 aged 60 years. Also LUKE WEATHERSTONE who died 4th May 1851 aged 72 years. Also his sister HANNAH died 13th November 1848 aged 75 years.

Erected by CHARLES GILLES in memory of his daughter JEAN who died 25th October 1842 aged 19 years. AGNES his daughter who died Dec 11th 1847 aged 11 years. The above CHARLES GILLES died 7th Sept 1866 aged 66 years. Also his wife  ELIZABETH SIMPSON who died 26th October 1885 aged 85 years. Also his son JOHN who died 6th October 1885 aged 55 years.

Blessed are they that die in the Lord 

Also CHRISTIAN GILLIES his daughter who died 21st August 1890 aged 53 years. Also HANNAH GILLIES  his daughter who died 21st May 1895 aged 45 years.

In memory of WILLIAM AITKEN who died at Quarry House Swinton 15th March 1898 aged 65 years. Also AGNES BAIN his wife who died at Quarry House 4th November 1915 aged 82 years. Also ISABELLA TERNENT beloved wife of ALEXANDER AITKEN who died 10th November 1950. Also the above ALEXANDER AITKEN who died 4th July 1954 aged 70 years.

Also of BARBARA STUART wife of the above ROBERT HERRIOT born at Raecleugh 1795 died at Lambden 1851. Eldest son JOHN HERRIOT of Assam born at Swinton Hill 1812 died at East Gordon 25th February 1875. Also 3rd son JOHN HERRIOT of Calcutta born at Whitsome Hill 1819 died at Cheadle Cheshire 29th July 1866. MARGARET ANN LOWE wife of the above JOHN HERRIOT born at Godsall Staffordshire 29th Februay 1818 died at Chirnside 24th August 1908. MARY ANN MARGARET youngest daughter of the above ROBERT and BARBARA HERRIOT born at Whitsomehill died at Edinburgh 8th August 1908. All interred here.

Also of STUART HERRIOT of Penang and Province Wellesley 2nd son of the said ROBERT and BARBARA HERRIOT born at Swintonhill 1818 died in Penang 5th May1877. HAlso his wife CATHERINE ANTHONY born at Pnang 28th January 1834 died 3rd October 1859. Also his only son STUART ROBERT ANTHONY born 9th August 1859 died 1885. All buried in Penang.ROBERT youngest son of ROBERT and BARBARA HERRIOT born at Whitsomehill 10th August1828 died in Calcutta 1865. Buried there. 3rd Daughter BARBARA STUART born at Whitsomehill 1821 died in Edinburgh 21st July  1865. Buried there.

Erected in memory of HELEN WOOD wife of JOHN PITTILLA slater in Swinton died 26th June 1826 aged 49 years. Also his 2nd wife CAMILLA BELL who died 25th November 1865 aged 70 years. Also JOHN PITTILLA who died 24th November 1821 aged 53 years. Also his son JAMES died 21st May 1895 aged 45 years.

Erected by THOMAS WHITE in memory of daughter ISABELLA who died 4th September 1822 aged 2 years. Also wife MARGARET BROWN who died 21st December 1845 aged 60 years. And the above THOMAS WHITE who died at Edenbank 9th August 1859 aged 74 years.
