Reverse: In memory of ANDREW BENNET Cabinet Maker Coldstream who died 29th April 1836 aged 72 years.

Also MARGARET GRIVE his wife who died 11th August 1801 aged 33 years.

ADAM his son died in infancy. ADAM son of the said ANDREW BENNET and CATHERINE RICHARDSON his second wife deowned in Tweed 11th February 1817 aged 12 years. Also ELEANOR his daughter who died.......

Also HELEN daughter of GEORGE CLAZY and wife of JOHN LEITCH who died 17th June 1839 aged 49 (?) years.

In memory of JAMES CUNNINGHAM Bank Agent and Surveyor Coldstream who died 23rd January 1876 aged 74 years.

Also AGNES SMALL his wife who died at Plowlands 30th May 1829 aged 31 years.

Also EUPHEMIA their daughter who died at Plowlands 25th February 1829 aged 18 years.

Here lies the body of ROBERT son of ROBERT and JANET STEUART tenants in Crosshall who departed this life 30th November 1810 aged 55 years.

Also sacred to the memory of their son PETER STEUART who died at Jamaica West Indies 1815 aged 42 years.

Also JANET ROBERTSON or Steuart relict of the above ROBERT STEUART who died 20th February 1846 aged 76 years.

Against the wall: to the memory of MARY MCLAREN wife of Capt. CUNNINGHAM Berwickshire Militia who died 28th November 1820 aged 25 years.

And of their daughter JANET who died 27th January 1821.......

Enclosure against wall:

In memory of WILLIAM GRIEVE of Amperley in Coldingham and Elder of the church who married at Oldhamstocks MARGARET LITSTER AD 1696 and died c 1746 interred at Oldhamstocks.

And of their son ROBERT GRIEVE of Howpark in Coldingham born 1704 who married at Coldingham MARGARET ROBERTSON 1726 and died 1775.

He settled at Eastfield Greenlaw 1754 and was Baron Baillie of Greenlaw interred at Oldhamstocks.

And of their son ALEXANDER GRIEVE of Eastfield born 1736 who married at Eccles JEAN COSSAR 1765 and died 1797 he was interred here.

And of their son GEORGE GRIEVE of Eastfield born 1766 who married at Newton Midlothian JANE HANDYSIDE 1805 and died 1842 interred here.

And of their son ALEXANDER GRIEVE of Eastfield who was born 1809 and died 1875 unmarried interred here.

At his death the family became extinct in the male line and their tenancy of Eastfield which had lasted for 121 years ended.

This memorial was completed by WILLIAM ALEXANDER McFARLANE GRIEVE MA Oxon JP of Penchrise and Edenhall Roxburghshire and Impimgton Park Cambridge nephew and heir of ALEXANDER GRIEVE of Eastfield and representative of the family.

Here lies the body of ALEXANDER GRIEVE late tenant of Eastfield who died 15th March 1797 aged 60 years. Also his son ALEXANDER who died 28th January 1795 aged 24 years. And JAMES who died August 5th 1795 aged 21 years. Also the body of JEAN CORSAR wife the said ALEXANDER GRIEVE who died 20th June 1805 aged 60 years. GEORGE GRIEVE farmer Eastfield Parish of Greenlaw who departed to the memory of God the 26th June 1822 in the 77th year of his age. In private life he was adored with those virtues that distinguished a worthy man and a good Christian. And JANE HANDYSIDE  wife of the above GEORGE GRIEVE who died on 21st December 1861 aged 67 years. GEORGE GRIEVE youngest son of GEORGE GRIEVE died March 1819 aged 34 years. PETER GRIEVE his second son of the above HEICS died at Barelees Northumberland on third day of November 1859 aged 48 years.ALEXANDER GRIEVE his eldest son died at Eastfield on thirtieth of August 1887 aged 66 years.

Wall panel:

Sacred to the memory of ALEXANDER DICKSON of Stonefold who died 13th February 1789 aged 59 years.

And of ANN TROTTER his wife who died April 1827. GEORGE DICKSON of Stonefold and Belchester their son was born 1771 died 1844.

And of their grandson ALEXANDER GEORGE born 1834 died 1889.

The last of the Dicksons who were owners for several centuries of Stonefold and Belchester.

Panel: In loving memory of Rev. JAMES RUTHERFORD WATSON Minister of the Parish of Eccles for 43 years who died 6th February 1891 in the 67th year of his age.

Erected 1891 by the Congregation.

Section B – Row 1 – 14 – Thomson/Skene

To the memory of ALEXANDER SKENE THOMSON eldest son of the Minister of Eccles who died 24th July 1833 aged 27 years.

And of the Rev.JAMES THOMSON DD Minister of Eccles born Crieff May 1768 died at London 28th November 1855 in the 88th year of his age and the 51st year of his ministry.

And of ELIZABETH SKENE his wife born 29th March 1774 died 8th August 1851. Both interred in the Dean Cemetery Edinburgh.
