Driver George Scott

Driver George Scott, 19th Corps Motor Transport Company, Army Service Corps. He died at Home in Jedburgh, aged 23, from meningitis on the 19th January 1921 and is buried in Castlegate Cemetery, Jedburgh. He had been born in Kelso and was the son of John and Agnes Scott of 12 Exchange Street, Jedburgh. He had been employed as a butcher and enlisted in April 1918 being posted to France as a lorry driver. He was invalided home in May 1919 and was treated for a hernia in hospital in Lancashire and later that year was discharged from the Army.
