The project has now started with a Conservation Architect and Archaeologist appointed. The archaeology is first and the planned programme is:-
25th August – rubble clearance
31st August – Geophysical Survey
Late September/Early October – Trenching.
Coldstream's Heritage – Community Interest Company is looking for more archaeology volunteers.
Coincidentally, research into the history of the kirk, it's context in the trail of Borders religious establishments and the thwarting of body-snatching, at Lennel as well as elsewhere, is being progressed.
The stone masonry repair of the kirk walls is to be carried out in the spring of 2017.
