Private Adam Dumma, 7th/8th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in Belgium on 29th July, 1917, aged 24, and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium. He had been born in Foulden, Berwickshire and was the son of Mrs. Dumma, Yetholm Mains, Kelso, Roxburgshire. Before enlisting he had been employed as a ploughman at Yetholm Mains. On that date the Battalion was moving around Ypres ready to take up their battle positions for the commencement of the Battle of Third Ypres which was to open on the 31st July. 15 casualties, including Private Dumma, were suffered by German shelling.
