Flight Lieutenant Victor George Brewis, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was a member of 605 ( County of Warwick ) Squadron, Royal Air Force and was lost on Air Operations over Holland on D-Day. 6th June 1944, aged 28. He was the son of Victor and Marion Brewis of Wooler and is buried in Hoorn General Cemetery, Holland. At that date the Squadron flew intruder missions over Occupied Europe from R.A.F. Manston using the superb De Havilland Mosquito Mark V1. Victor was buried beside his fellow crewman Flight Lieutenant Arthur Whitten-Brown. He was the brother of John Brewis below.
