Corporal Thomas Barber Grieve, 9th ( Machine Gun ) Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France during the retreat to Dunkirk on 25th May 1940, aged 21. He was the son of John and Isabella Telfer Manderson Grieve of Wooler and is buried in Caestre Communal Cemetery, near Hazebrouck, France.
