Private Thomas Dunn

Private Thomas Dunn, 2nd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action on 15th September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme and is buried in Adanag Military Cemetery, Miramount, Somme, France. Before enlisting he had been an apprentice grocer with Mr Laing of Ramsay Lane, Wooler and was also a member of the Cheviot Street Church choir. He had enlisted in September 1914 and had begun army life as a Mounted Policeman. The autumn rains however turned the shell torn ground into a quagmire.
