Corporal Robert Scott

Corporal Robert Scott, 9th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps ( Infantry ). He was killed in action in Belgium on 27th October 1918 during the Advance to Victory, aged 22. He had been born in Ancrum, Roxburghshire and was the son of Robert and Janet Scott of North Doddington, Wooler and is buried in Kezelberg Military Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium  The M.G.C. used the Vickers water cooled machine gun which could be used with both defensive and offensive roles. The photographs show Allied troops during the advance against the retreating German Army during the final 100 days of the War
