Private James Fairbairn

Private James Fairbairn, “C” Squadron, 1st/1st Northumberland Hussars. He died on 3rd September 1918 in France of wounds received in action during the “Advance to Victory” aged 21. He was the son of Mr and Mrs G. Fairbairn of Roseden, Wooperton, Wooler and is buried in St.Marie Cemetery, Le Havre, France. His Headstone is inscribed ” Though Lost To Sight Still To Memory Dear”. The photographs show Allied troops during the advance against the retreating German army in the final 100 days of the War.
