Fusilier Charles Scott

Fusilier Charles Scott, 9th Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He died of diptheria at Kanchananburi Aerodrome Camp in Thailand on 10th May 1943 whilst a Prisoner of War of the Japanese, aged 29, and is buried in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand. Many men of this Battalion were captured when Singapore fell on 15th February 1942 and were forced to work on the notorious Burma-Siam Railway. He was the son of James and Minnie Scott of Ramsey Lane, Wooler.
