Private George McLeod

Private George McLeod, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers.  He died on Service on 13th October 1942 in India aged 29. He had been born in Chirnside and was the son of William and Mary McLeod of Whitsome and is buried Karachi War Cemetery. His Headstone is inscribed ” In Loving Treasured Memories Of A Dear Son and Brother. You Died For Those You Loved”. The cBattalion had been in India since 1923 and until November 1942 they had been stationed at Razmak on the North West Frontier.
