Private Nathan Sim, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. He died in France on 22nd August 1918 during the “Advance to Victory” aged 21. He is buried in Meaulte Military Cemetery, Meaulte, Albert, France. He was the son of John Brunton Sim and Frances Sim of 5 Grangewood Terrace, Stobswood, Morpeth, Northumberland. He fell during the capture of Albert by the 12th ( Eastern) Division of which 9th N.F. was a constituent part. His Headstone is inscribed ” Thy Will Be Done “. The photographs show the victorious Allies advancing after the retreating German army during the last 100 days of the War.
