Private Alfred Rogers

Private Alfred Rogers, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He died from wounds  in France, aged 22, on the 17th April 1918 suffered during the German Spring Offensives. He had been born in Broomhill and was the son of Alfred and Mary Rodgers of Red Row, Acklington and the adopted son of William and Mary Smith of Widdrington, Northumberland. He is buried in Mendinghem, Military cemetery, Flanders, belgium.
