Sergeant Henry Knowles, Royal Air Force. He was a Wireless Operator with 233 Squadron R.A.F. and died at Home on 24th October 1940 of wounds received during Air Operations. He was the son of Mrs E. Knowles of Tweedmouth and is buried in Tweedmouth Cemetery. His Squadron flew the Lockheed Hudson which at that time operated from R.A.F. Leuchars and flew anti submarine patrols over the North Sea.
