Sergeant James Heatlie Douglas, 3rd ( Special Reserve ) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He died at Home, aged 32, on the 17th October 1918. He had been born in Selkirk in 1877 had been employed as a gardener in Edinburgh when he enlisted in August 1914 and went to France with the 7th ( Service ) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders in May 1915. In 1916 he fell ill and was evacuated home and discharged from the Army in 1917. He died in his parents home in Green Street, Selkirk and is buried in Selkirk Cemetery.
