Private Walter Grieve

Private Walter Grieve, 17th ( 3rd Glasgow ) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He was posted missing in action in France, aged 26, on the 1st April 1917. He had been born 1891 in Selkirk to James and Margaret Grieve of Howden, Seklkirk and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Thiepval, Somme, France. He and his brother William ( see below ) were well known cricketers with Selkirk Cricket Club.
