Private Joseph Scott

Private Joseph Scott, 1st/4th ( Territorial) Battalion, Royal Scots, ( Queen’s Edinburgh Rifles ). He died from wounds suffered at Gallipoli , aged 28, on the 30th September 1915. He was the only son of Walter and Isabella Scott of 6 Ettrickhaugh Cottages, Selkirk and is buried in Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey. He had served his apprenticeship as a tailor in Selkirk before going to work in South Bridge, Edinburgh. He landed on Gallipoli with his Battalion and with rest of the 52nd ( Lowland ) Division on the 15th June 1915.
