Private Joseph Dickson

Private Joseph Dickson, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died at Home from wounds suffered in action in France, aged 28, on the 2nd May 1918. He had been born in Selkirk in 1890 and was the son of the late James Dickson and Janet Dickson of 9 Ettrickhaugh Road, Selkirk. He is buried in Selkirk Cemetery where his Headstone is inscribed ” Ever Fondly Remembered”. He had been employed in the Forest Mill in Selkirk when he enlisted in 1914. He was wounded in France in April 1918 and was evacuated to the War Hospital in Guildford, Surrey where he died.
