Private James Brown Hislop. 6th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in Belgium, aged 19, on the 30th September 1918 during the ” Advance to Victory “. He was born in Selkirk in 1899 and was the son of Richard and Jane Hislop of Sloethorn Bank, Ettrick Terrace, Selkirk and is buried in Dadizeele New British Cemetery, Belgium.
