Private Gideon White, 6th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in France on Active Service from disease, aged 39, on the 11th October 1916. He had been born in Selkirk in 1877 and was the son of the late Alexander White of Edinburgh and Jane White of Sloethornbank, Selkirk He died in the 12th Stationary Hospital in St Pol and is buried in St Pol Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
