Private Donald McKay Douglas, 15th ( 1st Glasgow ) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He died from wounds in France. aged 24, on the 5th June 1918. He had been born in Lochcarron, Ross shire in 1894 and was the son of John and Margaret Douglas of 57 Castle Street, Selkirk. He had been living in Glasgow when he enlisted and went to France in November 1915. He died in the 3rd Casualty Clearing Station in Bagneux and is buried in Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” Peace Perfect Peace”. The 15th H.L.I. was a “Pals” Battalion known as the Glasgow Tramways Battalion as it was originally raised in November 1915 from men who worked on the Glasgow trams
