Lance Corporal Donald Reid, 2nd Battalion, Cameronians. He was killed in action, aged 20, in France on the 25th March 1918 during the German March Offensives ( Operation Michael ). He was born in Selkirk in 1897 and was the son of Walter and Rachel Reid of 20 Cannon Street, Selkirk. He had originally enlisted in the 4th Kings Own Scottish Borderers but was posted to the Cameronians in France. He was killed in action on the 25th March 1918 during the German March Offensives ( Operation Michael ) and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Pozieres, Somme, France.
