Private Andrew Lowrie, 5th Battalion, Black Watch. He was killed in action in Normandy on 11th June 1944, aged 27. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Lowrie of Roxburgh and the husband of Elizabeth Lowrie ( nee Sanderson ) of Roxburgh. He is buried in Hermanville War Cemetery, Normandy, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” Thy Will Be Done”. The photos show Scottish troops in Normandy.
