Private Robert Jameson Dumma, “Y” Coy.,1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in hospital in Alexandria, Egypt on 4th November 1915, aged 19, of wounds received in action at Gallipoli and is buried in Alexandria ( Chatby ) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. He had been born in Jedburgh and was the son of John and Elizabeth Dumma of Oxnam Row and Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. His Headstone is inscribed ” Trusting In Jesus He Passed Through Death Triumphant Home “. He had been employed as a vanman in Jedburgh when he enlisted in November 1914. His brother James also fell – see above ).
