Cabin Boy James Mann

Cabin Boy James Cunningham Mann, Mercantile Marine. He was a cabin boy and died from wounds on 15th May 1918 when the merchant ship the S.S. “War Grange” was torpedoed and damaged by U-55. He had been born in Wells, Somerset and his mother Ann had come there from Gattonside. He is buried in Newquay, Cornwall. The vessel had been launched in 1917 as a war emergency ship and was sailing in ballast from Bordeaux to Cardiff. 5 Crew Member were lost
