Sergeant George Millar

Sergeant George Millar, 13th ( Royal Highlanders of Canada ), Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He was killed in action in Belgium on 13th June, 1915, aged 29. and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres. He was the son of John Millar of Lilliesleaf, Roxburghshire and husband of Janet Millar of 269 Galapark Road, Galashiels. Before the War he had worked as a baker in Melrose but  after emigrating he was employed by the Rosedale Coal Company in Alberta. He had enlisted in 1913 and was posted to France in April 1915.
