Private James Scott

Private James Scott, 50th ( Calgary ), Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 4th February 1917, aged 30. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Scott of 10 South Hermitage Street, Newcastleton and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, Vimy, France. He had spent four years with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers before emigrating to Canada and was working as a labourer in Calgary when he enlisted in August 1915.
