Private Frank Turnbull

Private Frank Turnbull, 2nd Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, ( late of Lothian and Borders Horse ). He was killed in action in Bulgaria on 30th September 1918, aged 26. He was the son of James and Betsy Turnbull of Satchells, Lilliesleaf and is buried in Doiran Military Cemetery. He fell in a Battalion attack on the Bulgarian positions on “Pip Ridge” and the “Petite Couronne”.
