Private John Brodie, 46th Battalion, Australian Infantry. He was killed in action during the Battle of Third Ypres on 12 October 1917, aged 28. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Alexander and Janet Brodie of High Street, Lauder and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium. He had emigrated to Australia in 1913 and was farming in Koolberrin, Western Australia when he enlisted in November 1916.
