Private John Harvey, 6th ( Service ) Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. He died from pneumonia in the 19th Stationary Hospital, Kephalos, Greece on the 23rd January 1915, aged 38. He had been born in Belford and before enlisting he had been employed as a miner at Cowpen and his sister Mrs Graham of Beal received the official intimation of his death. He is buried in Lancashire Landing cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
