Private Thomas Jamieson Mabon, 10th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameronians ) Scottish Rifles ). He was killed in action in France on 28th March 1918, aged 26, during the German Spring Offensive ( Operation Michael ). He was the son of Mr and Mrs Archibald Mabon of Airhouse, Oxton, Berwickshire and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial,Arras, France. He had been born at Cavers, Roxburghshire and had resided and worked at Haymount near Kelso. The photographs show Allied troops preparing to resist the advancing Germans.
