Private Walter Bell, 17th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died from wounds in France , aged 30, on the 20th June 1918. He had been born in Jedburgh and was the son of Walter and Elizabeth Bell of Hindhousefield, Jedburgh. He died in the 5th General Hospital in Rouen and is buried in St Sever cemetery, Extension, Rouen, France. He had originally enlisted in the 1/1st Lothian and Border Horse but was transferred to the Royal Scots in France.
