Private Robert Rae

Private Robert Brockie Rae, 6th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in Germany, aged 18, on the 30th July 1918 whilst a Prisoner of War. He had been born in Caddonfoot, Selkirkshire and was the son of William and Betsy, Rae of Blackadder Mount, Berwickshire. Before enlisting he had been employed in the Allerley Engineering Works in Jedburgh. He died from bronchitis in the Royal Prussian Hospital in Triere, Germany  and is now buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany.
