Private John Gallaway

Private John Henry Gallaway, No.1 Reserve Motor Transport Depot, Army Service Corps. He died on Service from pneumonia, aged39 in the Abbey Lodge Auxiliary Military Hospital in Chiselhurst, Kent on the 24th January 1917. He had been born in Perthshire and was the son of Margaret and the late Alexander Gallaway of Aberfeldy and the husband of Agnes Gallaway of Mount Ulston, Jedburgh. He died from pneumonia only three weeks after passing a medical and joining the A.S.C. He is buried in Chiselhurst Cemetery, Kent.
