Officer Cadet Sergeant Donald Eustace Reed, Royal Artillery. He died on Service in Roxburghshire, aged 36, on the 25th February 1941. He had been born in Essex and was the son of Ernest and the cvlate Margaret, Reed of Shoeburyness, Essex and the husband of Jean Reed of 74 Headrigg, Jedburgh whom he had married in Jedburgh in 1940. He had been returning on leave from Wales and arriving at St Boswell’s station had decided to walk to Jedburgh as no transport was available. On the way he suffered a heart attack and died at the lodge gates of Ancrum House. He is buried in Castlewood Cemetery, Jedburgh.
