Fusilier William Moody

Fusilier William Moody, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was killed in action in Burma, aged 29, on the 30th November 1944. He had been born in Ballymena, Co. Antrim and was the son of William and Lizzie Moody of Ballymena and the husband of Jessie Moody of 5 Cornelius Close and Bongate Gardens, Jedburgh. He had moved from Northern Ireland to work for the North British Rayon Company in Jedburgh and had met his wife here being married in 1936.  He fell in a patrol action against the Japanese near the village of Pinwe. He is buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Burma where his Headstone is inscribed ” Ever Fondly Remembered By His Wife And Daughters “.
