Private G. Shearlaw, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry ). He was killed in action in France on 26th August 1918 during the “Advance to Victory” and is buried in Grand- Seraucourt British Cemetery, France. The M.G.C. used the Vickers Mk1 water cooled gun in both defensive and offensive roles. The photographs show Allied troops ,including machine gunners, advancing after the retreating German Army during the final 100 days of the War.
