Rifleman William Corner

Rifleman William Corner, 1st/8th ( Territorial ) Battalion, London Regiment ( The Post Office Rifles ). He died from wounds in France, aged 20, on the 26th May 1916 and is buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery Extension, France. He had been born on Orphir, Orkney and was the son of Margaret Corner of Fox Street, Leith and the husband of Emma Corner of Back Street, Dalkeith. before enlisting in June 1915 he had been employed as a postman in Heriot.
