Flight Sergeant William Trotter, 108 Squadron ,Royal Air Force. He was a Wireless Operator and was lost on an Air Operation in the Middle East on 27th September 1941 and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Alamein, Egypt. 108 Squadron flew the Vickers Wellington from Kabrit Air Base in Egypt on bombing raids on enemy held bases in Libya and Greece. He was the son of Mrs Trotter of Flora Bank, Greenlaw. He was educated at the Berwickshire High School, Duns and is also commemorated on the Memorial Tablet placed in the new High School, Duns.
