Private William Clark

Private William Duncan Clark, 2nd Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).  He died on Service, aged 20, whilst a Prisoner of War on 10th August 1918 and is buried in Glageon Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord, France. He had been born in Greenlaw and was the son of Alice and the late James Clark of Southview, Greenlaw.   He had been educated at the Berwickshire High School before going to work for the Inland Revenue in Galashiels where he enlisted. He is also commemorated on the Memorial tablet in the new Berwickshire High School, Duns. He died in Trelon which was near the Belgian border.
