Private Thomas Scott, 6th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in Flanders on 18th August 1918, aged 23, and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium. He was the son of Thomas and Jane Scott and had been born in Greenlaw. He fell in the successful assault on the German strongpoint of Hoegenacker Mill. The cost was 25 killed and 139 wounded.
