Private Adam Fleming

Private Adam Fleming, 12th (Service) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He died from wounds in France, aged 19, suffered during the Battle of Arras and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of James and Agnes Fleming of 53 Douglas Street, Galashiels. He had originally enlisted in the K.O.S.B. but in France he was transferred to the H.L.I. The photos show troops during the Battle.
