Corporal Robert Fairbairn

Corporal Robert Fairbairn, 2nd Battalion. Royal Scots. He died at home in Buckholm Mill Cottages, Galashiels from T.B., aged 29, on the 4th February 1924. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of the late George and Jessie Fairbairn formerly of Buckholm Mill Cottages, Galashiels. He had served with the 16th and 12th Royal Scots before becoming a P.O.W. in May 1918. He was then repatriated in November 1918 and arrived home where he worked as a grocer.
