Private Thomas Brown, 1st Battalion, Scots Guards. He was killed in action in Belgium, aged 24, on the 30th March 1916 and is buried in Potijze Ground Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of George and Agnes Brown of Halliburton Place, Galashiels. His brother Robert also fell – see above. He was a painter to trade and had joined his Battalion in France in July 1915.
