Private Robert Brown, 8th (Service) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed in France, aged 37, on the 24th January 1916 and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Dud Corner, Loos, France. He was born in Galashiels and was the son of Janet and the late Robert Brown of Scott Street, Galashiels. Before enlisting he had been employed as a tailor and joined his Battalion in France in October 1915.
